Annual AC and Furnace Maintenance

Spring AC and fall furnace checkups with cleaning, inspection and a performance check, so both systems are ready before the weather turns.

A furnace or air conditioner that hasn't been looked at in a while usually gives small warnings first. You might notice longer run times, a dusty smell when the heat kicks on, an outdoor unit packed with cottonwood and grass clippings, or rooms that never quite get comfortable. Cincinnati summers are humid and the winters get cold, so both systems work hard. We recommend checking each one before its season. Our annual maintenance covers system cleaning, an inspection and a performance check. In spring we clean and check your AC before the heat sets in. In fall we do a furnace tune-up so it's ready for the first cold night. If we find a part that's worn or failing, we show you what we found and give you an upfront price before we do any work. You decide what happens next. A maintenance visit is also a good time to ask about anything that's been bothering you, like a noisy blower or an upstairs that runs hot.

Common questions

When should I schedule AC and furnace maintenance?

Schedule the AC in spring before the hot weather and the furnace in fall before the heating season. Booking early gives you time to take care of anything we find before you need the system.

What happens if you find a problem during a tune-up?

We show you what we found and explain your options. You get an upfront price with no hidden fees, and nothing gets replaced unless you say so.

Why does my furnace smell dusty the first time it runs in the fall?

Dust settles on the furnace over the summer and burns off the first few times it runs. A light smell that fades within a few hours is normal, but if it lingers or smells like burning plastic, shut the system off and call us. If you smell gas, leave the house and call your gas utility.
